Feet to the Fire
This week I’ve been watching the VERGE Conference draw together 10,000 of the brightest minds from business, technology, and sustainability to collaborate internationally on building a healthier future – the greatest human imperative and endeavor. For inspiration and connection, click here.
Shana Rappaport, Vice President, and Executive Director of Verge, GreenBiz Group, opened the event with this analogy. She described the Serotinous pine cones which only release their seeds when triggered by a destructive fire.
This year of searing fires, a killer pandemic, and escalating climate destruction has robbed millions of their homes, jobs, and food. We grieve for them, for ourselves. We are living in a wounded world. Our feet are held to the fire. Whatever we’ve been doing to prevent annihilation, personally and as a global community, clearly isn’t enough.
Author and visionary, Jean Houston, writes, “In our time we have come to the stage where the real work of humanity begins. It is the time where we partner Creation in the creation of ourselves, in the restoration of the biosphere, the regenesis of society and in the assuming of a new type of culture; the culture of Kindness. Herein, we live daily life reconnected and recharged by the Source, so as to become liberated and engaged in the world and in our tasks.” Jean Houston
This is our Pinecone Moment …
… our opportunity to write the story we want to pass on to future generations.
I ask, what story am I telling myself? What story do I want to be writing? What is my personal pledge of commitment to ensure future generations?
My story and pledge include mega support for environmental causes as well as lowering my carbon footprint, ever present in my mind. To take only what I need and to give more than I take.
I feel healthier when I turn my angst into action. I keep myself vital to continue teaching and reaching out to you and our ever growing Dynamic Vitality Community.
Respect for Nature Begins Within
We’ve become estranged from our bodies and from nature in significant ways. We’ve acclimated to walk on cement, eat packaged food, drink purified water, and breathe filtered air in these last months of Covid 19 and mega-fires. Feeling threatened and alienated, it’s easy to withdraw.
Embody yourself anew. Join Russell and I in trainings designed to return you to a more resilient, healthier, and sustainable body. We base our programs in the belief that love of nature begins within, with caring for our human bodies. We are committed to helping you transform how you move through life so you can live and age with Dynamic Vitality.
